View Full Version : Cooperative Multiplay / Alliances

I've tried out the beta, and I think it's a lot of fun. Easy to understand, and plays well. But it is hard to understand how the multiplay will work that is of a coop or alliance type mode. Will there be a way to create your cities in the same region or part of a map? How will players cooperate to fight off enemies (NPC or players), and how will they cooperate to do quests?

I haven't been able to find anything on the net about this, so a multiplayer FAQ or walkthrough would be great!

I heard it ill be a coop/multiplayer mode and all on one server(same realm i think)...if so it will be blood bath :D

Maybe it has not been programmed yet, I am not sure. For me, the viability of the Coop modes will be what makes or breaks the game (and my decision to buy). I am very much interested in:

1. Being able to be on the same continent or area of the world map with my friends
2. Being able to cooperate in RTS battles with friends
3. Being able to trade resources with friends

I'm not much interested in the PvP aspect, as I think that's going to be very hard to manage properly. I really don't want to be bothered with PvP at all, as I when I get my friends together to play, we're going to want to do things on our own timetable, and not be interrupted with homeland defense.

Really, the strength of a game like this to me and my friends is a persistent online world in which we can play cooperatively against a PC opponent.

PvP and alliances have not yet been enabled in the Beta. My hunch is that this is because the devs want the testers focusing on ironing out the "single player" bugs in online kingdom right now. Once that's in working shape, I'm assuming they'll enable the PvP server to connect players for alliances. I do remember seeing a post from a dev stating that they were testing PvP within their own ranks, so they are working on it on the back end.

We are hoping to start first multiplayer testing with-in two weeks or so. However we`ll start with the basics and only introduce final multiplayer function like alliances, and guilds - in August.

Coop against PC sounds fantastic, human players never send waves to crash against my well-placed defenses like the AI does. It's so much wasted potential.
