From the Q&A thread:
Q. Will the AI be a possible opponent skirmish mode?
A. AI will be playable against in single player skirmish mode, however not in multiplayer skirmish mode.

no AI in skirmish mode makes me sad.
nothing was as fun as playing humans vs AI in strongholds, i wish you guys would reconsider this feature in dawn of fantasy. At least in LAN mode where bandwidth isn't an issue.

Oh come, there was AI in stronghold... AI that had an IQ of about... 2 :P

Some of it wasn't... BAD, but creative AI doesn't hold the classic WWI strategy of Attack down the left side... followed by another attack, From the left Side! And, since you will definently NOT be expecting it, attack AGAIN from the left side!

I agree with the op., Reverie, let us beat the stupid program with our human friends! (or the opposites)

well ash makes a good point, I prefer no ai then stupid ai that keeps attacking from the same side.

it would be nice if they introduce a super powerful enemy AI so we can all gang up on and lose to it lol
though i like the idea of an unbeatable AI would be enjoyable beside taking on other weak players and zeroing them :D

Thats a whole idfferent game though. I've played a number of RTS games where the AI had a fine IQ. In Empire Earth they have to bigger one :p. I have though had many fun memories playing online skrmish against AI with a mate or two battling against the hardest setting of AI.
For me it will be a missed feature, but not a devastating miss.

I personally just liked the AI for practice or learning the basics of the game.

There's no reason to not allow comp stomps. Why restrict what people want to play needlessly?

Still, the thread title is misleading imo, should be changed maybe.

Good call Jean. Hopefully someone from Reverie will inform us more on this subject.

I understand that, and that would be what I would hope we would end up with if we did have an AI, be it in Skirmishes or multiplayer games.

And, personally I do hope that a rather brutal AI would be included.

Single player Skirmish against the AI os ok for getting basic stragity. Personaly i would like to see multiple AI difficulty settings and the ability for a 2-3 human players VS 2-3 comp controled. Some of the mst enjoyable games my freinds and i have played were when it was 2-3 humans VS 3-6 Brutal difficulty comp AI's. We did not always win but it sure helped our teamwork tactics and timeing.

It kept you on your toes, and didn't leave the game if it's first rush failed
