I know you're all proberly sick of all these "weather affect gameplay" threads, but this one concerns: magic!
Will night make water magic stronger, or recharge quicker? Not a big change in either, but certainly noticable. The moon should govern water, as it does the sea. The moon affects oceas/seas, so will it affect water magic?

No, one of the things we haven't taken into consideration is astral objects. So moon & sun don't affect anything other that showing day and night.

Well, wouldn't it be good then if night and day affected Death and Life?

It's a decent idea, but incorporating it in and working out balancing would be a strain on our already tight production schedule. Also I think it may make magic too complicated for some players.

Maybe factions like Orcs and Dragons could be stronger at night and Men and Elves stronger at day.

Well, might be something to think about for DoF 2
Or an expansion, where the spell casters' magic depends on day and night ;)

I could see it more affecting if your mage was light or dark, not the school of magic.

That actually makes a cool gameplay idea. Think of it this way, your on an online game and your mage is always using water spells which are powered by the moon. You could build up a reputation for yourself for always attacking at night, then just completely suprise everyone with a huge day time attack! I think this would be a cool feature to add for the expansion.

Didn't think of that ;)

I just attack when the time is right, and that is what I plan to do on this game ;)

I rush hard from the beginning and finish them with upgrades.

I try to do that... but I end up cowering in my base and coming out about half an hour later with a giant-fully-upgraded-army

I get an ally immediately and then turtle a bit, supplying them while they supply me with troops. Then when I get alot of resources I can train an army very quick. I will be an air combat guy, while I find an ally that can do good sieges...
