Hey guys ive been following this game for a while, hoping for its release, yet i only just decided to sign up on the forums to make my opinions/suggestions known and to perhaps get a beta key. If not ill have to wait for open beta ;)

Anyways i have always been very interested in this genre. I played Saga, a similar MMORTS for a very long time, and loved it and the whole genre. As a result i cant wait to see what DoF has to offer as it looks like Reverie Studios are putting a lot of time and effort into this game.
Im especially interested in medieval and futuristic style strategy games, such as the Stronghold series and the Dawn of War series. I think if Reverie can pull off as much realism as Firefly did for stronghold(eg. breaking down different parts of walls, chipping parts of wall with siege units, using ladders to scale walls, setting buildings on fire, having that fire spread through the city via other wooden buildings, spies and espionage, criminals within a city etc etc) they will have a very very well loved game on their hands which will make them lots of moneyz!

So yeah im still a teenager, i love games, yet put social life and school before them. I love exercising, both resistance training and cardio. I love most sports, including volleyball, archery, soccer and futsal. I live to fish, swim, run, drive and so on. As you can see i love the outdoors a lot!

Well thats enough of me for about now.

What id really like to know about this game is how will the Skirmish modes(both singleplayer and multiplayer) be different to the MMORTS mode? What is the MMORTS mode going to be named? (Surely it wont be called MMORTS gamemode? haha) What will be the storyline for the campaign? Is there currently a view of the world map so we can get used to where everythign is and better understand the story/plot line?

Thanks a heap guys, hope this game goes far!

I believe it was called Kingdom Online, or Online Kingdom last time I looked.

Welcome to the DoF community! You should do just that and let us know your opinions. Feel free to post around and become a active member.

Hey! Weclome!

The MMORTS mode is persistent, meaning that even when you are not online, your units will continue to gather resources etc. When you come online then, you will have resources to work with, and not have to wait. You cannot be attacked by other players when offline, but when you are online - pray and beg for mercy. I don't take prisoners.

The skirmish mode is one game played on one map with up to 8 players [I think] it is a single occurance and is not persistent.

I hope that was clear. For more info, check to FAQs on the top left of the main bar up top.

Hi and welcome. I also played saga but didnt last as long as you did =P. And stronghold was/is an amazing game (i like the most the first classic medieval part), which had lovely game mechanics that some arent seen even now =) (and loved its music =)). Well, but cant say destroying walls was realistic =P.
Nice that you have such lot of activities and not just games, personally i also trained archery some time and it was fun =P (specially when imagining target as orc).

At mmo everything you can do takes longer to do (training, gathering, building), as said its persistent, you have world map, quests, campaign-story. And its more like you vs world (not just 1 battle 3v3 for example), beside you have trading, visiting capital cities, guilds(?)..... But as you said you played saga already, than you might know some basic features that are different than skirmish, for more detailed info you will have to look by yourself =).
Well storyline is unknown at the moment but you can see here http://www.reverieworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1305
that it has good potential to be very good.

And here is old version of the map (the new one has graphic update): http://www.reverieworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=543

Hope i helped with your questions =).

Welcome to the forums!

To answer some of your questions, the MMORTS mode is called Online Kingdom, the skirmish modes will be different from the MMORTS game mode because the build times and stuff go a lot faster(plus your city isn't persistent), I'm not sure exactly what the storyline is like, I can tell you that there will be many quests that include a lot of lore and story in them, the old MMORTS map is linked above, but if you want to see the new map, it is in the Media Fair section and is one of the Fantasy Fridays, forgot which exactly.
