This is less of a suggestion and more of a worry.

Well, I've been playing Gears of War on the xbox 360 for the past couple of months and participated in a good amount of clan matches. Because Gears of War online supports not specific clan features, there are usually dedicated sites that host clan matches and keep track of wins/losses, ect. Some even have cash tournaments.

Unfortunately, it seems like the people who host these and make "the rules" for these third party tournaments never seem to play the game. What I mean is the rules seem ridiculous to someone who has played it. For example, on Gears of War there was a tournament where the top 11 people on the ladder boards would be allowed to attend. It's a sad fact that everyone knows the top 11 people cheat to get there (I'm not being a whiner they get their friends to boost them.)

Anyways I was wondering if Dawn of Fantasy might incorporate any sort of online clan feature, or the Reverie team might get in touch with sites that host clan matches to make sure the rules make sense to people who play the game.

Dawn of Fantasy will incorporate online clan feature with full-support from us.

To explain how we plan to do this, let me say a few words about our "Community Central" - our goal to combine all of Dawn of Fantasy community in one super site, and make this super-site accessible directly from Dawn of Fantasy online play lobby.

DoF "Online Lobby" will be the main portal for all things DoF - place to start online game, place to upload/download fan made scenarios and campaigns, "Central Forum Hub" covering everything from strategy discussion forum to scenario design forum and guild forums.

Once it comes to guilds, we are planning to provide them with all the tools and space right there in the main DoF community site. They`ll be able to list a link to a guild website right there, and will be allowed to open and moderate a guild forum in the Guild section of Central Forum Hub.

The only known right now is how compatibility between Xbox360 and PC content, and extent to which we`ll be able to share same Community Central for players from both platforms.

Very nice.

I very much like the idea of being able to have your own forum provided for clans. Also very happy to hear that you guys are supporting clans because that was a major worry for me.

I'm working on a list of things I'm a little worried about/suggestions (using the information your team has provided) so that should be up soon.

What's scary is that it very much feels like you guys are taking every want I've ever had for an RTS and fulfilling them. The on line community with clan support, an epic single player campaign with massive battles. Units that actually cast spells when appropriate to avoid the feeling of being overwhelmed. When you said you had spells I was worried this might go down the road of Warcraft 3 where Spells was something people with very good "micro" used, and those of us who liked to take our games a little slower avoided.

Anyways thank you for the reply :).

Not so scary when you come to realize that many members of the team got our start with game design working in other RTS editors and developing our own wish lists that come straight from the experience and disappointments in those games and editors.

I agree, Dawn of Fantasy seems to list all the features that tend to get cut from other big releases.

I haven't played a fantasy RTS since the days of Warcraft 2 that combines good gameplay mechanics, a progressive yet realistic assortment of new additions to the genre, and the right "atmosphere" that completes the fantasy setting. That last one was where Warcraft 3 fell through... everything was going great until you realized that late game armies were comprised mostly of flying skeleton dragons. I don't mind seeing one or two on the field, but it ruins the fantasy setting when they begin to dominate the makeup of the army.

Anyways, this one is the first one in a LONG time that's shown promise to achieve it, and that's why I'm keeping my eye on it.

That raises my faith in this game all the more. From what I've seen your taking your time on it, and thankfully your not having any severe deadlines forces down your throats.

Just wondering... will there be some kind of open world pvp? or is it 'instances' in a sense?
